Arthroscopic microfracture shoulder is shown here. Shoulder arthritis is a painful condition of shoulder. It is caused by loss of the covering protective cartilage layer. Cartilage loss can occur after a single or repeated injuries, instability, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis etchole surgery. Cartilage loss can be tolerated by the patients. However, pain becomes troublesome during overhead activities. Here Key hole surgery can arrest the progression of cartilage loss.
We highlight a method of treatment of localized cartilage loss through key hole surgery. This procedure causes stem cells in the underlying bone marrow to rise to the occasion and repair the damage. One can appreciate the difference between the healthy whitish shiny cartilage and the brown damaged cartilage.
A Micro fracture procedure generates stem cells which repair the defect. Here the procedure is shown. One can see the trickle of blood into the raw area. This area will be generated with reparative cartilage.
